The Ghost of Our Love quest in Hogwarts Legacy presents players with a captivating puzzle involving a treasure map marked with floating candles. Unlocking this quest requires finding a specific treasure map that leads to a hidden location illuminated by enchanted lights. Navigating this quest rewards players not only with useful gear but also with valuable progress toward completing the game's expansive exploration challenges.
How to Obtain the Map of Floating Candles
Acquiring the map is directly linked to your selected Hogwarts house during the main storyline progression. Depending on your house, the map is discovered in different locations such as Hogsmeade, the Owlery, or near the Great Hall. Once collected from its respective questline, inspecting the map reveals a forest tree, a bridge, and a cluster of floating candles under a night sky.
Starting Location and Time Requirements
To successfully trigger the event, players must travel to the Forbidden Forest Fast Travel point at night. If you arrive during daylight hours, simply open the world map and use the wait feature to advance time to nightfall. Stand near the stone bridge located just south of the Forbidden Forest entrance to prepare for the spell activation.
Solving the Floating Candles Puzzle
Once standing at the bridge at night, cast the Lumos spell to reveal the enchanted floating candles. Follow the candles as they drift away from the bridge and guide you deeper into the tree line of the Forbidden Forest. The path is peaceful and straightforward, eventually leading you to a romantic hilltop setup featuring a picnic table and a treasure chest.
Rewards for Completing the Quest
Opening the treasure chest at the end of the candle trail completes the Ghost of Our Love side quest. Inside, players will receive a unique Treasure Seeker's Scarf cosmetic appearance, gold, and experience points. Completing this task also contributes directly to your field guide completion metrics, making it a worthwhile venture for collectors.
